911 Communications Division

The Crisp County 9-1-1/Communications Center is a division of the Crisp County Sheriff's Office. Our call center is staffed with certified communications officers who have been trained to respond to all types of emergency situations. The center answered 116,299 calls in 2016.

Major of 911 Communications: Mickey Dunnavant

Major Mickey Dunnavant started his career in Public Safety has a volunteer EMT giving him a total of 28 years experience in Public Safety. Dunnavant has a total of 20 years with Crisp County Sheriff’s Office. During those 20 years he has worked his way up from the Detention Center, Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Training Coordinator, and ultimately Major of the 911 Communications Center. Dunnavant holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice as well as an Associates of Nursing. Major Dunnavant is a GA POST Certified General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, and Crime Scene Technician. He has lectured throughout the United States on Identity Fraud for St. Petersburg Junior College and testified before Federal Grand Juries on matters involving fraud. Major Dunnavant is also a member of APCO (Association of Public Safety Communications Officials) and NENA (National Emergency Number Association). Major Dunnavant is the Safety Coordinator for Crisp County and also works as an RN at Crisp Regional Emergency Center.
