AGENCY ASSIST WITH DNR LEADS TO 5LBS. MARIJUANA

CRISP COUNTY- August 21, 2018

Jeremy Trey Sapp, 25-year-old male resident of Crisp County was arrested Saturday, August 18, 2018 around 10:30 p.m. at Loron Williams Park. Game Warden Sgt. Greer and Game Warden Cpl. Martin, Georgia Department of Natural Resources approached a vessel docked at Loron Williams Park. Upon approaching the vessel Greer observed a tubberware container with an open lid containing suspected marijuana.

Greer reached out to Mid-South Narcotics Task Force for assistance in the search and seizure of the suspected marijuana. A search of the vessel resulted in 5lbs. of marijuana with a street value of $25,000, 36 vials of Butane Hash Oil, and a large jar of THC oil.

Sapp was placed under arrest and transported to Crisp County Detention Center. Sapp is charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a BHO (Butane Hash Oil) with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Firearm during Commission of Crime.

Sheriff Hancock stated, “I am grateful for the partnership Crisp County Sheriff’s Office has with the Department of Natural Resources. We are fortunate to have extraordinary DNR Officers in our county that care deeply about the safety and welfare of our local citizens”

Game Warden Sgt. Greer stated, “Teamwork is vital in law enforcement. I am thankful Crisp County Sheriff’s Office responded swiftly to our call for assistance and was ready to help.”
