SUSPECT FLEES ON FOOT INTO COTTON FIELD
CRISP COUNTY- September 11, 2018
Antonio Vega 32-year-old male, a resident of Cordele, Georgia was arrested September 11, 2018, at approximately 7:00 p.m. Vega is charged with Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree, Aggravated Assault, Rape, False Imprisonment, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Pointing a Weapon at another, and Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer.
On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Investigators attempted to apprehend Vega at 470 Sandy Mount Road. Upon arrival of Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Investigators Vega fled on foot into a cotton field. Investigators and Deputies established a perimeter until other units could arrive to assist. The K-9 Tracking Team was deployed and was able to locate and apprehend Vega within the perimeter. Vega was then transported to the Crisp County Detention Center.
