TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST

CRISP COUNTY- August 20, 2018

Deaqwan O’Connor, a 26-year-old male resident of Atlanta, Georgia was arrested Saturday, August 18, 2018 at approximately 11:30 p.m. Deputy First Class Loron Williams initiated a traffic stop on a grey Chrysler Crossfire for failure to maintain lane and defective equipment on GA401/I75 around milepost 102 southbound.

While speaking with O’Conner, Deputy First Class Williams smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. O'Connor denied any possession or use of marijuana. A search of the vehicle resulted in approximately 1 lb. of marijuana and a firearm.

Consequently, O'Connor was placed under arrest and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center. O'Connor is charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Possession of Firearm during the Commission of a Crime.
