Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest
CRISP COUNTY - April 14, 2025
On April 13, 2025, at approximately 4:45 A.M., a Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputy performed a traffic stop on a Dodge Journey for speeding on I-75 near mile marker 97. While asking for the driver's license and registration, the deputy noticed the smell of marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag containing marijuana, another bag with suspected cocaine, and multiple types of pills stored in various containers and locations throughout the car.
Paulo Arenas Purizaga, a 29-year-old male from Miami, Florida, faces the following charges:
- Possession of Marijuana – Felony
- Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Illegal Possession of Controlled Substance
- Speeding in Excess of Maximum Limits
- Prescription Drugs must be in their Original Container
