A critical function assigned to the Courts unit is mandated by Georgia Law requiring the Sheriff to provide security for the Court Facility and Courtroom.
Subordinate responsibilities in support of the courts include the transportation of inmates to those courts, the prisons throughout the Georgia, and for medical and mental reasons.
Civil Process Unit
The Civil Process Unit is responsible for serving all civil process papers issued by the Courts of Crisp County. Deputies are responsible for serving citations, general executions, garnishments, injunctions, restraining orders, subpoenas, summons, and writs. The Civil Process Unit assures that these papers are served in a timely manner and are returned to the court system.
