WANTED SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

CRISP COUNTY- February 14, 2018

Malcom Jamal Mobley, 18 year old male resident of Crisp County was arrested at approximately 4:30PM February 14, 2018. Crisp County Sheriff’s Office investigators received information on Mobley’s whereabouts at approximately 3:30 PM. Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputies contained the scene at 110 14th Ave Cordele, Georgia until the Tri- County Special Response Team could arrive and be deployed.

After an approximately hour long stand-off, consistent negotiations, and deployment of the Tri-County Special Response Team, Mobley surrendered and was placed in custody without incident.

Mobley was arrested on outstanding warrants and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center. Mobley has the following outstanding warrants from Appling County (Baxley Police Department) and Crisp County. These warrants are; Theft by receiving stolen property- Felony, Theft by receiving stolen property- Felony, Theft by taking-Felony, Theft by taking-Felony ,Giving False Name to Law Enforcement- Misdemeanor, Discharge of a firearm on or near and public highway- Misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana-Misdemeanor, Criminal Damage to property in the first degree- Felony, Obstruction of Law Enforcement- Misdemeanor, Possession of Firearm during commission of Crime- Felony, Aggravated Assault-Felony, Violation of Probation. Additional charges will be forthcoming with regards to today’s incident and findings.

Sheriff Hancock states, “I am proud of today’s success, it would not have been possible without team work and efforts put forth by everyone involved. I would like to personally thank the other agencies that assisted today; Cordele Police Department, Crisp County EMS, and Georgia Bureau of Investigation Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit.”
