CCSO Receives COVID-19 Mitigation in Georgia Confinement Facilities Grant

CRISP COUNTY- June 24, 2022

Crisp County Sheriff’s is pleased to announce that the agency is approved to receive the $12,500.00 COVID-19 Mitigation in Georgia Confinement Facilities Grant. Funding for the grant is provided through the Institute for Health Logistics & Analytics (IHLA) at Georgia Southern University and the Georgia Department of Public Health.

At the beginning of the pandemic, the agency initiated protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. These orders established sanitary requirements, which required numerous resources. While necessary, sanitization products and personal protective equipment can be quite costly. Funds obtained through this grant will help the agency purchase additional supplies to sanitize and clean the Crisp County Detention Center, which will help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards.

“We are grateful to be selected for this grant. This funding will help provide resources that we can use to help us keep the Crisp County Detention Center safe at no additional cost to our taxpayers,” stated Sheriff Billy Hancock.
