Former Crisp County E-911 Telecommunications Trainee Arrested

CRISP COUNTY- May 11, 2023

On May 10, 2023, during the apprehension of Brandon Carter, a former Crisp County E-911 Telecommunications Trainee, was also arrested at a residence in the 900 block of 18th Avenue East by authorities. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Task Force apprehended Brandon Carter, 26, of Cordele. Carter was identified as the suspect in an Aggravated Assault case Cordele Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations are investigating. During the apprehension of Carter, former Crisp County E-911 Telecommunications Trainee Chessa Felder, 22, of Cordele, was also inside the residence.

GBI agents obtained arrest warrants for Felder, charging her with one count of violation of oath by a public officer and one count of hindering apprehension of a criminal. Felder began employment in December of 2022.

“No one is exempt, and no one is above the law. Any employee who tarnishes their badge or betrays the trust of the office will be dealt with swiftly and justly. Every employee in this office takes an oath; violations of that oath will not be tolerated.
