Juvenile Arrested in Entering Auto Investigation
The Crisp County Sheriff's Office has arrested a juvenile in connection with a series of entering auto incidents that occurred on Schley Avenue.
Deputies responded to a residence on Schley Avenue after receiving a report of vehicles that had been entered. Following an investigation, a juvenile suspect was identified and charged with four counts of Entering Automobile or Other Motor Vehicle with Intent to Commit Theft or Felony.
Because the suspect is a juvenile, no additional identifying information will be released.
The Crisp County Sheriff's Office reminds residents that most entering auto crimes are crimes of opportunity. Taking a few simple precautions can greatly reduce your chances of becoming a victim.
- Always lock your vehicle, even when parked in your driveway.
- Remove valuables, including wallets, purses, electronics, firearms, and cash.
- Never leave spare keys or key fobs inside your vehicle.
- Park in well-lit areas whenever possible.
- Install security cameras or motion-activated lighting around your home.
- Report suspicious people or activity in your neighborhood immediately.
