One Arrested After Pursuit; Stolen Vehicle and Drug Charges
CRISP COUNTY, GA (May 6, 2024): On May 4, 2024, around noon, a Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a grey Toyota Rav4 at the intersection of GA 30 W and Old Albany Road. The vehicle was reported stolen out of North Carolina. The driver fled, leading law enforcement on a pursuit through Cordele, Georgia, and onto the interstate. The pursuit continued into Dooly County, where the driver lost control and crashed the vehicle at the 108-mile marker of GA 401/I75 near the rest area. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center. A search of the stolen vehicle resulted in a bag of suspected marijuana, a bag and bar of suspected psilocybin, a checkbook, and a P-EBT Card.
Ronavon Kelley, a 22-year-old male from Charlotte, North Carolina, faces the following charges:
• Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into the State
• Felony Fleeing and Attempt to Elude
• Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute
• Possession of Psilocybin with the Intent to Distribute
• Possession of Psilocybin
• Fraud – Financial Identity (2 Counts)
