AGENCY ASSIST WITH CHASE
CRISP COUNTY- July 28, 2020
Crisp County Deputies assisted with a multi-county pursuit Monday, July 27, 2020, around 2:00 P.M. The high-speed chase ended with an accident at the intersection of GA 401/I75 and 16th Ave involving multiple vehicles. Crisp County EMS responded to the scene and transported two victims from the accident to Crisp Regional Hospital. The driver of the vehicle involved in the chase, Kimberly Buckle, was evaluated by Crisp County Emergency Medical Services and released to Crisp County Sheriff’s Office. Buckle was then transported to the Crisp County Detention Center. Georgia State Patrol Post 30 is working the accident.
Kimberly Buckle, a 26-year old female from Crisp County, GA, faces charges from Rochelle Police Department and charges from Crisp County Sheriff’s Office. Her charges from Crisp County Sheriff’s Office include felony fleeing or attempting to elude charge, aggravated assault, driving while license suspended, and numerous traffic violation charges.
Monday, July 27, 2020, around 2:00 P.M. Crisp County E-911 received information on a chase occurring in Rochelle, GA, heading towards Crisp County on U.S. HWY 280. Rochelle Police Department was initially dispatched to a call involving a white SUV that almost hit a juvenile. The white, Kia Sorento, failed to stop for authorities. During the pursuit, a Rochelle Police Officer lost visual of the SUV westbound on U.S. HWY 280. Crisp County Deputies met the SUV on U.S. HWY 280 west of Dorough Road. The driver began to swerve at a patrol car. Deputies were able to get behind the suspect vehicle and activated emergency equipment. The driver continued to operate the vehicle recklessly and would not stop. Stop sticks were utilized by Cordele Police Department on U.S. HWY 280 near the ford dealership in efforts to stop the vehicle from entering the 16th Ave. After hitting the stop sticks, the SUV continued on 16th Ave. The SUV struck multiple vehicles before coming to a stop at the intersection of GA 401/I75 and 16th Ave. No officers were injured during this pursuit.
