JAMES SUBJECT ARRESTED AFTER ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE
CRISP COUNTY- February 28, 2019
Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Caleb James, a 26-year-old male, a resident of Laurens County at approximately 8:10 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019, after K-9 Track. Deputies also arrested Kristi Riley, 42-year-old female, a resident of Laurens County at approximately 6:50 a. m. Thursday, February 28, 2019.
At approximately 6:40 a.m. Deputy Malinda Bair attempted to assist a stranded motorist on GA HWY 280 West. The occupants requested assistance jump starting the vehicle. Crisp County Communications E-911 indicated both occupants had outstanding warrants. Caleb James is wanted for a Parole Violation, and Kristi Riley is wanted for a Failure to Appear. A brief physical altercation ensued after Deputy Bair attempted to place James under arrest. James fled into a field in the vicinity of Georgia Veterans State Park on HWY 280 West. Crisp County Sheriff’s Office K-9 begin tracking at 7:26 a.m. After a short foot chase, James was placed under arrest and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center.
