Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

On February 27, at approximately 2:30 A.M., a deputy initiated a traffic stop on I-75 near Mile Marker 103 for a 2019 Black Yukon. When asked for his license, Christopher Hinson informed the deputy that his license had been suspended in Florida. A records check revealed that Hinson’s Florida license was suspended since July 2024, and he is an active registered sex offender in the state of Florida.

Hinson was placed in handcuffs, and a wrecker was requested to tow the vehicle. During an inventory of the vehicle, the deputy discovered a handgun and six unspent shell casings. The serial number search on the gun did not show any records. Additionally, the deputy found a container holding a yellow/gold substance suspected to be dried THC oil, commonly known as Dabs.

Christopher Hinson, a 57-year-old male from Conyers, Ga was transported to the Crisp County Detention Center and is charged with the following:

  • Driving While License Suspended Or Revoked
  • Possession Of A Schedule 1 Controlled Substance
  • Possession Of A Firearm During A Crime
