CRISP COUNTY FIRE DISPATCHED TO CRISP COUNTY DETENTION CENTER
CRISP COUNTY- December 14, 2018
Crisp County Fire Rescue was dispatched to Crisp County Detention Center at approximately 10:20p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 after being advised there was heavy smoke in the kitchen. The smoke was caused by a smoldering bag of dish towels. Crisp County Fire Rescue is helping determine exactly what caused the dish towels to ignite. Due to the quick response of Detention Officers and First Responders this event was isolated and there was no need to evacuate inmates. Crisp County EMS was on standby at the Detention Center and there were no injuries reported. Crisp County Fire Rescue left the scene at approximately 11:25p.m.
“Tonight is a prime example of how first responders work in tandem to ensure public safety. I am proud of the men and women of this community that consistently give this county their all” stated, Sheriff Hancock.
