JUVENILE TURNED OVER TO VIENNA POLICE FOR STOLEN VEHICLE

CRISP COUNTY- June 28, 2019

On Thursday, June 27, 2019, around 9:10 P.M. Crisp County E-911 issued a BOLO for a 2016 white Ford Fusion that was reported stolen from Dooly County. A Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a car matching the description and attempted to stop it. The vehicle failed to stop. The car continued at speeds above the posted limit on various city roads. The driver lost control of the car hit an embankment, and then landed on the railroad tracks at 3rd street. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After further investigation, Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputies determined a 14-year-old juvenile was responsible for the pursuit involving the stolen car. After being cleared at Crisp Regional Hospital, the juvenile was turned over the Vienna Police Department. Sheriff Hancock stated, “Thank you, Cordele Police Department for assisting in the pursuit."
