One Arrested for Animal Cruelty
On January 6, 2025, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control responded to a report of animal cruelty on 26th Avenue West. Officer Vogel contacted the owner, Jesse Blanks, and discovered that "Diamond," the animal in question, appeared malnourished, underweight, and in need of medical care. Diamond was taken to the Cordele Animal Shelter, and an arrest warrant was subsequently issued for Mr. Blanks.
On January 12, 2025, Best Friends Humane Society picked up Diamond to transfer her to Thomasville Humane Society for rescue.
