AGENCY ASSIST WITH CHASE
CRISP COUNTY- September 26, 2018
At approximately 8:10 a.m. on September 26, 2018, Crisp County E-911/Communications received information from Dooly County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit and entering Crisp County on HWY 41. Deputies were advised that Dooly County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a tan Lincoln LS reported stolen from LaGrange, Georgia and the driver failed to stop. The vehicle entered Crisp County and traveled various city streets while being operated recklessly at speeds above the posted limit. Even after authorities discontinued pursuit, Duke continued to drive recklessly. Due to the subject endangering many lives authorities re-initiated pursuit of the vehicle.
A Georgia State Trooper apprehended David Duke, a 27-year-old male, a resident of LaGrange, GA after he fled on foot at 7 ½ Alley and 4th Street. Duke exited the vehicle after striking fence on private property adjacent to 8th Ave. Crisp County EMS responded to the scene, and no injuries were reported. Upon apprehension, Duke appeared to be under the influence. After being taken to Crisp County Detention Center, he was transported to Crisp Regional Hospital to be evaluated. Duke faces numerous charges in multiple jurisdictions including Troop County where is wanted for two counts Battery (FVA), Aggravated Assault (FVA), and two counts Criminal Trespassing.
Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, Georgia State Patrol Aviation, and Cordele Police Department assisted Dooly County Sheriff’s Office.
