CCSO Uses Gang Activity Prosecution Grant (GAP) for Formulytics Software

CRISP COUNTY, GA (May 1, 2024): In December 2023, Crisp County Sheriff’s Office announced being one of thirty-four organizations awarded the GAP Grant. As of April 2024, these allocated funds have been put into action. Specifically, the Sheriff’s Office has directed the investment towards Formulytics Software, a cutting-edge cloud-based platform that helps investigators collaborate across jurisdictional boundaries and organizes complex evidence and investigations around the unique requirements of group-based prosecutions and Georgia’s Gang Statute.

In April 2023, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office took proactive measures by assigning an investigator to monitor crime and gang activity within the county. This dedicated individual collaborates closely with the Criminal Investigation Unit and the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force. The intelligence gathered on these subversive groups has yielded tangible results, aiding in resolving crimes within Crisp County and the City of Cordele, GA. The Formulytics Software program will enhance these efforts by seamlessly consolidating and connecting information pertinent to the identification and comprehensive lifecycle of intelligence collaboration. From initial investigation and arrest to prosecution, incarceration, and release, this software will streamline processes and enhance intelligence every step of the way.

“We are excited to utilize the Formulytics software as it will enhance our continuous efforts to make Crisp County safe by disrupting and prosecuting gang activities. I want to emphasize the importance of our ongoing See Something, Say Something Campaign and our Youth Violence Campaign. It's crucial for all of us to collaborate in order to diminish criminal activity. Parents and guardians, please stay vigilant by closely monitoring your children, knowing their whereabouts, and being aware of any drugs or weapons they may possess. Lastly, educate your children about the detrimental repercussions of gang involvement and criminal behavior," stated Sheriff Billy Hancock
