Speeding Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Firearm Arrest
On January 27, 2026, a Crisp County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F-150 traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 280 at Dockweiler Road.
During the stop, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. A subsequent search resulted in the discovery of approximately three ounces of marijuana and two firearms inside the vehicle.
The driver, 30-year-old Jonathan Lazo of Rochelle, GA, was arrested and transported to the Crisp County Jail.
He was charged with:

· Felony Possession Of Marijuana
· Possession Of Firearm During Commission Of Crime
