CITIZEN TIP LEADS TO ARREST OF THEFT SUSPECT
CRISP COUNTY- November 14, 2017
Benjamin Oliver, 41 year old and Lisa Raub, 37 year old both residents of Paola, Kansas were arrested Monday, November 13, 2017 at approximately 5:30 PM.
Deputies were dispatched to Crisp Motorsports Park in reference to a race car and enclosed trailer theft Monday, November 13, 2017 around 2:30 PM. Lyle Farms reached out to Crisp County Sheriff’s Office after receiving a call from a citizen stating that an individual was trying to sell a race car and trailer for $5,000, the trailer and car had identifying decals for Lyle Farms. Due to the value of the trailer and car the citizen stated, “The sell threw up a red flag.” During scene processing authorities were able to arrange a purchase of the stolen vehicle and enclosed trailer. Crisp County Sheriff’s Office working alongside Perry Police Department contrived a location for the purchase. Crisp County Sheriff’s Office recovered the race car and enclosed trailer valued around $23,780. Upon recovery there was an additional $8,000 worth of damages reported on the race car and enclosed trailer.
Subsequently Benjamin Wobker and Lisa Raub were arrested and transported to Crisp County Detention Center. Wobker and Raub are each charged with one count Burglary, one count Theft by Taking-Felony, and one count Criminal Damage to Property- 1st Degree.
