Hurricane Hoedown Donations Delivered
CRISP COUNTY- October 27, 2017
Over 100 people attended the “Hurricane Hoedown” hosted by The Fritz Farm on September 30, 2017 in support of the first responders that made the ultimate sacrifice during Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Through sponsorship, ticket sales, and donations $6,000 was raised for the families of these first responders.
Initially the Fritz Farm was hosting a “Burgers and Brats” event after Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma the event was transformed into a benefit. Paige Dockwieler and Amy Brown owners of Fritz Farm reached out to Crisp County Sheriff’s Office to assist in getting the money directly in the hands of those in need.
We are proud to announce all of the donations but one have been handed out. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 Crisp County Sheriff’s Office on behalf of the Fritz Farm presented Sheriff Harold Eavenson, President of the National Sheriff’s Association two checks. The first check gifted in the amount of $2,500 in honor of the Puerto Rico Officers Ishmel Harrigan, Angel Lorenzo-Gonzalez, and Hector Matias-Torres. The second check gifted in the amount of $1,000 in the honor Sgt Steve Perez of the Houston Police Department. Thursday, October 26, 2017 Crisp County Sheriff’s Office on behalf of Fritz Farm presented two additional checks in Hardee County Florida. One check was presented to the family of Deputy Julie Bridges in that amount of $1,000. The second check was presented to Asst. Warden Ryans and Asst. Warden Frizzell of the Hardee Correctional Institution in honor of Sgt. Joseph Ossman. The last check with the remaining $500 will be delivered to lineman Marshal Freeman who was injured while working on a power line in Ocilla. There is no amount of money that can replace the loss of a loved one however through the hard-work, generosity, and kindness of others Crisp County was able to make a difference to these families.
First and foremost none of this would have been possible without Amy Brown and Paige Dockwieler. In addition to the sponsors everyone in attendance contributed and ultimately turned this benefit into a magical Saturday evening. There are some other special individuals we would like to recognize that helped organize the presentation of these donations. Lastly we would like to recognize WALB and WFXL for covering the event and helping raise awareness.
